At Michael Nutter Jeweler,
we know how important it is for you, to have your jewelry looking as fresh and exciting as the day you first saw it. There are a number of steps that you may take at home, to keep your necklaces and pendants, pins, rings and bracelets in tip top shape.
1. Prevent dings and dents!
when you are engaged in an activity, such as heavy cleaning, exercise or gardening, please remove your jewelry in order to protect it. Simple routine daily activities can cause minor damage to jewelry. And with repeated impact against hard surfaces, such as stainless steel sinks and granite countertops, sometimes gemstone settings and mounts can be damaged.
2. Keep the precious metals shining.
when you want to clean your metal jewelry, an easy and effective way is to use a few drops of dish detergent in a small bowl of water. Using a soft bristle tooth brush, gently brush until clean.
3. Make that Diamond and gemstone sparkle .
don’t touch your diamond too much. Grease build up happens fast on a diamond, so they’re not easy to keep clean. Even oils from your fingers stick to the diamond’s surface reducing its luster and spark. Here’s a simple plan: soak the diamond or gemstone in a degreasing solution of water with a few drops of dish soap, once or twice each week. After you remove it from the solution, use a soft, new toothbrush to remove any dirt. Reserve this toothbrush exclusively for your jewelry. Your diamonds will sparkle in appreciation.
And of course, bring in your jewelry to us once a year for cleaning and inspection.
